Functionally, the WP1-2 provides the user with individual and master control of two suspended microphones.
The three position selector switch allows the operation of Servoreeler® "A" or "B" individually, or in the center position, will operate both together.
This simultaneous operation can be very useful when supporting a stereo bar with two Servoreelers®, or when deploying a stereo pair.
The normal "Auto"-"Incremental" switch is also provided. This selects between full Auto "lock-in" operation and "Incremental" manual vertical adjustment of microphone height.
The WP1-2 Controller is intended for installation into an existing wall. It is attached to a low voltage rated – open back fixture that facilitates installation from the front of a finished wall.
Specifications and technical details:
The WP1-2 is powered by an externally located plug-in regulated 24Vdc power source. The power connector employs a standard 5.5mm x 2.5mm positive center configuration. For SRL-8 to SRL-40 operation, allow 600ma.to 800ma.for each Servoreeler®. For the larger SRL-90, allow 1.5A for each unit.
The rear apron of this controller provides an RJ-45 port for each of two Servoreelers®. Below each of these connectors, are two multi-turn Up and Down speed trimmers. Using these controls, two units may be made to operate at the same rate of deploy and retract speed. CAUTION: When employing a ceiling bezel, the retraction speed must not be set at a rate that may be too rapid for the switch in the bezel to stop the microphone within the confines of the bezel. When set properly, there should be some free upward movement still possible of the white Delrin guide/magnet carrier inside the bezel after the microphone is retracted and stops.
The WP1-2 controller can be retrofitted to an existing wall: Cut a rectangular opening measuring: 2.032" x 3.75" (51.7mm x 95.3mm) run your power and CAT5 control cables to this opening: Remove the metal faceplate to expose the two swing-arm screws on the plastic adapter. Insert the adapter into the opening and tighten the swing-arm screws until the adapter is firmly installed. Plug the RJ45 connectors into their sockets and plug the power connector into the round 5.5mm receptacle. Reinstall the metal faceplate onto the plastic adapter.
