CineEurope celebrated its 25th anniversary in Barcelona, from 20 to 23 June last, and this year’s trade show was a big celebration for Barco too, as interest in CinemaBarco was huge. Thousands of visitors took the time to attend our dedicated demo sessions, in life-like cinema environments, going home with new insights into ‘the future of cinema’.

Impressive deals, captivating demo sessions
Our digital cinema team had the honor of announcing an impressive number of new deals, at this year’s CineEurope: the world’s first all-Flagship laser cinema ( Reel Cinemas), Europe’s first all-laser cinemas ( Kinepolis and GRINN FILM), the debut of Escape in the Middle East and the growth in Auro 11.1 installations. In our demo sessions, we managed to prove why the world’s leading cinemas choose CinemaBarco technology: our laser technology, Barco Escape, the AuroMax® immersive audio technology and our Lobby engagement solutions help them provide their audience with an exceptional movie-going experience!

Record year for European cinema
During CineEurope, organizers UNIC (the European grouping of cinema trade associations and major operators) announced that 2015 was a record year for European cinema, with a 12.5% rise in box office revenue. Barco is confident that its groundbreaking technology, which lets moviegoers ‘see more’ and ‘hear more’ can contribute mightily to the success of cinema!
