Blitz|GES takes the UK events industry into the vivid world of 4K projection with Barco
Posted on Wednesday, November 30, 2016

Since 1989, Blitz|GES of the UK has been the audiovisual mastermind behind some of the country’s – and the world’s – largest events. Their offering includes the services of skilled professionals experienced in sound, design, lighting, video, set and staging and digital applications for events of all sizes. With more than GBP 14 million invested in audio visual equipment, Blitz|GES is up to any challenge. The UK company and long-time Barco partner recently chose to expand its “fleet” of Barco projectors – and catapult its offering into the future of AV – by purchasing six Barco HDX 4K projectors.

Barco 4K projection is the wave of the future in live events
On 25 October of this year, the UK’s live events market got a boost in the form of 6 Barco HDX-4K20 projectors. Industry leader Blitz|GES purchased these large-venue projectors to give the company 4K projection capabilities, enabling its specialists to meet the ever-growing demands of live events customers and deliver the latest and greatest in ultra-high definition imagery. Barco HDX-4K20 projectors feature a future-proof design, 3-chip DLP® technology and premium TLD lenses, enabling users to choose between WUXGA, WQXGA or 4K UHD resolution. The brightness level can also be adapted for specific applications, displaying images at 10,000 to 19,000 lumens in incremental steps. Blitz|GES is convinced that the choice of Barco will result in even better AV service delivery.

“There is increasing demand for high-brightness units,” explains Tom Chaney, Head of Video at Blitz|GES. “We’ve always been fans of Barco projectors and the superior images they produce, which is why we invested in Barco HDX technology. Our technicians and freelance engineers really love them – especially the modular construction.”

She continues: “But that’s not all – we’re able to use these projectors with bigger screens for more impact and shorter viewing distances, giving us a huge amount of flexibility.”
