Every year in October, the Film Festival of Ghent presents more than 100 feature films and 30 short films. Over the years, the annual event has grown into one of Europe’s most renowned film festivals as well as one of the world’s foremost movie soundtrack festivals.

Last year the organization hosted a modest hybrid edition showcasing the power of film. This year, for its 48th edition, they’re going for a physical, yet corona conscious, collective film experience again. The in-person festival also signifies the return of the World Soundtrack Awards ceremony and concerts, which were livestreamed in 2020, as the traditional (physical!) closing event of the festival.

It’s also become a tradition for us to support the annual film festival with our laser projection technology. And so, true to our commitment to creating memorable movie experiences, Barco is proudly co-sponsoring this year’s event together with our cinema joint venture, Cinionic.

Film Fest Ghent 2021 is scheduled from October 12th to 23th with a line-up that explores the Greek film world, and a programme which is packed with prominent figures and gems from the Greek cinema. The full 2021 programme of movies and soundtrack concerts can be found on the official website.
