Beamforming Microphone Array To Include New “Morgan Freeman” Module
Posted on Monday, April 1, 2013
Preliminary R&D is underway for a new, “Morgan Freeman” module to be included with the Beamforming Microphone Array as early as 2014. The new module would provide all conference attendees a new type of voice-lift with the deep, commanding tones of the beloved actor and voice-over artist.  ”Every word that Morgan Freeman says gives a sense of weight, dignity, and , let’s be honest, simply sounds more awesome” said a ClearOne source. “With this new technology, any voice is transformed, in real-time, and transmitted through the system as Morgan Freeman’s voice.  Who hasn’t wanted Morgan Freeman to narrate their words?  Well, now with the new Beamforming Microphone Array module, it’s a reality!”

Leapfrogging innovations such as Garmin’s natural-sounding GPS voice technology, ClearOne moves into real-time vocal transformation.  Without confirming additional voices, our source hinted that Morgan Freeman was only the beginning, as an entire portfolio of male and female voices would eventually be available as individual, firmware downloads.  Rumored applications also suggest huge potential in karaoke machines, allowing even the most tone-deaf of performers to sound like Adelle, Beyonce, or Usher.  Movie studios are also interested in licensing the technology to remake older films with deceased actors.

“The Beamforming Microphone Array represents the Pro Audio industry’s first professional-grade microphone with beamforming and adaptive steering technology and ClearOne’s next-generation Acoustic Echo Cancellation.” said our source. “At the very least, the ultra-sleek design will provide the clearest pickup in even the most difficult installations, so all the audio will sound crystal-clear – even without the addition of Morgan Freeman’s dulcimer tones.  The technology is in its infancy, but we are moving forward with gusto as we explore all potential applications of this product.  With such innovation, it is a brave new world indeed.”
