College and university libraries are important campus spaces—places for students to study, gather research materials, collaborate and to utilize the school’s provided technology. For many years traditional libraries have been transformed to address these various environments. Many of these transformations have been driven by the rapid development of digital information and communication technology. When sections of the unneeded bookcases come down many departments on campus are anxious to repurpose the newly available space. The above library rendering is a great example of this. Our triangular Active Learning Cluster has been growing in popularity to create functional computer clusters for student independent study as well as collaborative work. Our PowerBar provides the students great walk-up space to charge personal devices and simply an alternative stand-up work area. Our E-Kiosk is a library staple, shown here as a print kiosk. The traditional Carrels shown along the windows are a perfect spot for private study. Student comforts is also an important factor in a library setting and the OM5 flex back task chair with memory foam seat is a great economical solution. Space Planning for your library and classroom projects is always a free service that we offer so please feel free to take advantage.
Another functional table design not shown in the above rendering is our Collaborative Table. This technology ready table is a great solution for the library’s Huddle and Zoom rooms.
