5 Tips to Stay Away from Coronavirus in Office and Face-to-Face Meetings
Posted on Monday, June 15, 2020

Although Coronavirus (Covid-19) has slowed down, we still cannot neglect epidemic prevention and need to keep social distance after going back to the office during the post-pandemic period. The best way is to avoid having close personal contact and having in-person meetings in the office. When unavoidable in-person meetings occur, we better make it short and in a large room. However, if an in-person meeting is necessary, how do we keep social distance and keep ourselves safe from Coronavirus?

  1. Open doors and windows when the weather is nice

Air circulation in office space is very crucial. Always open the doors and windows to keep smooth airflow in the office space. Refreshing natural air could prevent you from the risks and this method is the simplest and cheapest way to keep you healthy. However, when the humidity level is very high outside, it’s better to keep them closed up to keep from getting damp.

  1. Get an air filter for your office

There are lots of brands of air purifiers such as Honeywell3MBlueairPanasonic, or Sharp. If opening doors or windows is not possible, another option is to get an air purifier to improve the air quality in the office. Although an air purifier might be helpful, we still need physical distance in the office.

  1. Leave one chair open in between

If an unavoidable in-person meeting is necessary, what we can do first is to arrange the layout of the meeting rooms. Make sure that you leave one chair open in between all the participants. Stick to the necessary 1.5 m (Europe) or 6 feet (US) distance.

  1. Set a time limit for a face-to-face meeting

Avoid congregating for a long time. Keep meetings as efficient as possible. Determine what topics should be focused on before the meetings and limit the time and length of your meetings. Having shorter meetings allows employees to have more time to focus on their job. A time limit for meeting could increase the productivity of employees and lower the risks at the same time.

  1. Use apps and software to avoid close personal contactA smart device (e.g. smartphone, tablet, notebook) is now indispensable in human beings’ life.
