Matrox Blueprints Next-Generation On-Premises and Cloud-Based Live Production Workflows at IBC 2022

Matrox's hardware and software broadcast portfolio streamlines and simplifies SMPTE ST 2110 workflows, remote productions, remote operations, and more

MONTREAL — September 9, 2022 — At IBC 2022 (stand 7.B15), Matrox® Video will outline how broadcasters can leverage best-practice tools and methodologies to deploy efficient and cost-effective on-premises and cloud-based live production workflows.

Simplify ST 2110 signal monitoring

Making its ISE debut is ConvertIP. A standalone ST 2110 converter that integrates and converts ST 2110 IP signals, ConvertIP enables broadcasters to confidently monitor ST 2110-20 and ST 2110-22 sources on HDMI or SDI monitors. ConvertIP will also feature at the IP Showcase (room G102), demonstrating interoperability with the latest ST 2110 technologies for open standards-based IP infrastructures.

Harness the cloud for REMI productions

Equipped with built-in tally and talkback, 4K, and genlock support, the Monarch EDGE encoder and decoder appliances are purpose-built for remote production (REMI) and contribution environments. In combination with the GlobalM cloud-based SRT streaming platform featuring high-availability, scalable routing, and monitoring systems, this cloud-based orchestration network offers a cost-effective approach to acquiring and sharing high-quality, low-latency contribution streams for REMI productions. Monarch EDGE will also be in the Grass Valley Partner Pavilion (stand 9.A01), combining with their Agile Media Processing Platform (AMPP) by feeding high-quality, low latency contribution streams for scalable, cloud-based live productions.

Reimagine remote operations

One of the fastest growing trends in broadcast is remote operations—a work mode enabling operators to work from off-site locations while controlling in-studio broadcast equipment. Extio 3 IP KVM extenders facilitate remote access and connectivity for these distributed teams and personnel by delivering secure, seamless, and glitch-free 4Kp60 4:4:4 and up to quad 1080p60 4:4:4 video extension and switching support over IP. In addition, Extio 3 IP KVMs work over standard and existing one Gigabit Ethernet networks, eliminating the need to invest time, labor, and financial resources to set up new infrastructure.

Explore cloud-native live productions

The Matrox hardware and software developer portfolio has long-provided OEMs the flexibility to build custom solutions and enable their broadcast customers to navigate smoothly from analog to SDI, SD to HD to UHD, and SDI to ST 2110. Remaining at the forefront of evolving broadcast technology, Matrox is helping OEMs and broadcasters transition towards developing virtual equipment rooms in the cloud to deliver live, low-latency, uncompressed broadcast productions.
