De Flint Theatre purchases Midas PRO6

Dutch theatre De Flint, based in Amersfoort, has purchased a Midas PRO6 live audio system from Midas Consoles Benelux after its sound technicians carried out a market survey of available digital consoles.

The crew were unanimous in their decision that the Midas digital platform would prove to be the best investment guarantee for the future, and were additionally impressed with what they considered a stunning sonic performance.

“The Midas PRO6 proved by far the easiest digital console to work with as well as being the best sounding one around,” says Klaas Spoelstra, chief technical director. “Our audio engineers were impressed from the moment they saw the PRO6, and compared to other digital consoles out there they described the PRO6 as being in a league of its own.”

The PRO6 system takes care of running the theatre’s entire digital audio multicore system including in/out boxes running Klark Teknik’s SuperMAC (AES50) protocol which is unique in delivering deterministic latency. The theatre is confident that its Midas PRO6 will guarantee all who use it a stunning mix quality that does justice to their performances.

“This is the third PRO6 we’ve sold into the theatre market, and the first to a theatre that hosts a lot of visiting acts and technicians,” says Axel Nagtegaal, MD of Midas Consoles Benelux. “Due to the strategy of the Midas digital platform and its approach to mixing, it’s only a matter of time before more and more audio professionals become hooked on the Midas way of going digital.”
