The RCI Custom Products 440 Pro Adapter is a two channel variable matching amplifier, designed to permit the interface of semi-professional (consumer) audio equipment and professional audio devices. This remarkably “quiet” unit is well suited for studio, broadcast or live production applications. Unit can convert unbalanced output signal from consumer type equipment (CD, MP3, DVD players) to balanced signal input for professional grade gear. Comprised of two amplifier sections and two attenuator sections, the Model 440 is designed to boost low level signal (-20 to +3dB) to balanced +4dBM level. Rear panel trim controls allow the user to vary the gain up to +8dBm in order to meet broadcast industry standards. Additionally, the amplifiers provide an impedance matching characteristic necessary to avoid overloading the -10dB equipment. The 440 also allows for reversal of the process, converting balanced signal to unbalanced signal. Connections include RCA input jacks to barrier strip outputs on the amplifier side. Attenuator side uses barrier strip inputs to RCA outputs. Model 440 X provides RCA input jacks to male XLR outputs on the amplifier side and female XLR inputs to RCA outputs on the attenuator side. Units may be rack mounted individually or in pairs side by side in the half rack configuration using the optional RM-140 rack mount kit.
