NEC Display Introduces New Ultra Short Throw Projector with HLD LED Light Source
Posted on Monday, February 3, 2020

The UM383WL is ideal for the classroom, its features providing the optimum, engaging teaching experience

NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial-grade digital signage displays and projectors, today released their new, cutting-edge UM383WL ultra short throw projector. The UM383WL will stand out in the NEC Display projector lineup as the first product to take advantage of HLD LED technology as a light source. HLD LED is a lampless, solid-state technology that offers excellent brightness, color accuracy, and image vibrancy.

The UM383WL utilizes LCD optics, provides WXGA (1280x800) resolution, 3800 lumens brightness, and is capable of producing an exceptionally large image that is diagonally 130 inches from less than three feet away from the screen. The projector’s light source lasts up to 20,000 hours, and the HLD LED technology streamlines maintenance and eliminates the need for lamp replacements.

The projector is also designed for quick start up along with instant-off, and includes wired networking to allow administrative control with remote monitoring. The UM383WL is offered in two packages – as a standalone unit or bundled with NEC’s NP06WK1 wall mount.

The UM383WL’s unique design provides flexibility for installers. The projector offers optical zoom and lens shift that allow it to be adjusted as needed to fill the screen properly. Further digital adjustments are possible with keystone, cornerstone and pincushion correction.

“We set out to create a projector that would provide the low maintenance, flexible solution that our customers require without compromising the stunning image quality that we promise in all of our products,” said Ryan Pitterle, Product Manager. “The UM383WL projector fulfills both of these requirements, and will be an asset to presenters and educators.”

The UM383WL allows presenters to engage more with their projected content. With NEC’s new ultra short throw projector, presenters can stand close to the image without having a bright light in their eyes or casting a shadow onto the projected image. The UM383WL enhances a student’s learning experience and an educator’s ability to teach, and is especially well suited for classroom applications.

The UM383WL will be available to order starting February 2020. MAP for the standalone unit is $1,849 while the bundled option will run for $1,949. For more information on the projector and its features, visit www.necdisplay.com.
