OCTOBER 16, 2020 -- La Mirada, CA -- Yesterday, Spinitar, along with their sponsors, family, and friends, raised $55,000 for City of Hope Cancer Treatment and Research Center located in Southern California during Spinitar’s ‘Virtual Day of Giving’ charity event.
The Day of Giving, held in place of Spinitar’s annual Golf for Hope event, has led to more than $450,000 in total donations raised for the non-profit organization over the course of six years.
During the special half-hour event, AV industry partners, customers, family, and friends gathered at various remote locations and watched important messages from City of Hope Orange County President, Annette Walker, actor, Andy Buckley, Spinitar Principals, Jeff Irvin and Jay Rogina, as well as viewed a virtual short game golf clinic, hosted by LPGA Hall of Famer, Amy Alcott.
The City of Hope has performed over 15,000 bone marrow and stem cell transplants with unparalleled survival rates for 13 consecutive years. Their researchers focus on harnessing the body’s natural defenses to fight cancer through an approach known as “immunotherapy.”
“Unlike the economy, cancer doesn’t pause for pandemics, so neither did we!” Said Spinitar Principal, Jeff Irvin. “Thank you to all of our Virtual Day of Giving sponsors, donors, auction item donors and auction winners for their support of cancer research at City of Hope! In addition to attending the live broadcast, guests were able to participate in an online auction where they were able to bid on items such as, intimate cruises, amazing vacation homes, rare wines, some great rounds of golf, and more!
