The Dante audio networking card is a plug-in card that fits in the uniCOS CU and provides a digital audio distribution interface. Digital audio distribution eliminates masses of inflexible copper wires and interfacing equipment. Installation is made simple using digital networking; a single lightweight, inexpensive CAT5 cable can carry 64 inputs and 64 outputs as digital audio data. Dante is built on IT standards, and is a complete media networking solution. It delivers low latency, tightly synchronized, sample-accurate audio, while simplifying installation and configuration of AV networks. As it runs on inexpensive off the shelf computer networking hardware, existing network infrastructure can be preserved. The uniCOS conference system can hence easily interconnect to Dante™ enabled 3rd party devices such as DSP’s, audio mixers, break in and break out interfaces or recording devices. Once installed in a network, Dante enabled products are automatically discovered resulting in a plug and play audio networking solution. Through the Dante controller software, the audio can easily be routed between the Dante enabled devices available on the network.
