The Meridian MS28GT24GX4POEH product is a managed redundant ring ethernet switch with 24x10/100/1000Base-T(X) ports and 4 additional 1000Base-X SFP optical ports. Each of the electrical ports also supports PoE+ (P.S.E.) device power capabilities. With support from the M-Ring Ethernet Redundancy protocol this switch will protect your mission-critical applications from network interruptions or temporary malfunctions with its fast recovery technology. The ring recovery time is <20ms with up to 250 concatenated switches. This switch provides advanced IP-based bandwidth management allowing the user to control the available bandwidth available for each port – further enhancing the switch’s efficiency. This switch also supports application-based QoS to priorities port access. A special IP monitoring function is incorporated into the switch to prevent unauthorized personnel from accessing the network. This precludes persons from accessing video privacy data and attacking IP cameras, NVRs and controllers. This switch also provides advanced DOS/DDOS auto prevention. This feature is used to prevent and lock out excessive amounts of data that would otherwise overwhelm the network, resulting in a significant slowdown or failure of the network. It incorporates hardware-based protection so it can prevent DOS/DDOS attacks immediately and completely. Power over Ethernet (PoE+) is also available on each electrical port. Port power of up to 30 watts is available to power cameras, PTZ mechanisms, etc. P.S.E. is a device (switch or hub for instance) that will provide power in a PoE connection. All functions of the switch can be managed conveniently by a powerful windows utility — SpectraVision v3.0 or above. These switches are the most reliable choices for highly managed Gigabit Fiber Ethernet applications with PoE functionality.
