The Hamilton Bulldogs Junior A club found themselves without an arena to play in as the First Ontario Centre in Hamilton was to undergo 500 million dollars in renovations over the next 3 years. They are moving 30 minutes away to the 58-year-old Civic Centre in Brantford, Ontario during the renovations.
Brantford has not seen Junior A hockey since the Brantford Alexanders left almost 40 years ago in 1984. It’s a 3000-seat arena that recently under went a 10 million dollar upgrade of the scoreboard HD screen, Lights, bar, offices and concession stands.
Aries Pro Solutions – Videolink provided a complete VIZRT Newtek NDI solution for the live broadcast of the hockey games. We installed a TC1 master production system with a Flex Panel, 3play 3P1 system for replays in the main production area to control the large HD scroreboard video screen. We also implemented Flowics graphics to be interconnected with the Tricaster for on air social media and live graphics. We also included Sony Studio cameras to be connected with several Full NDI PTZ cameras for the live production. For the in arena broadcast we used NDI encoders and decoders to over 20 Professional Sony and Samsung monitors to route the live broadcast and concession menus via encoded brightsign players. A Kiloview NDI Core X1 controls the routing of NDI signals through the building as well as bar area.
