This training will explore the importance of fiber, where fiber is being deployed, what components are part of the fiber ecosystem, and how to integrate a fiber optic infrastructure for residential AV systems. We'll discuss: understanding & selecting fiber types, fiber constructions, and fiber connectors; typical fiber optic applications; designing a fiber optic system; calculating loss budget, power budget, and overall link budget; troubleshooting a fiber optic cable; and fiber optic termination.
