New Models Feature Dual Function HDMI Outputs, Cable Runs to 100m, and an Integrated Web Server
AMSTERDAM, February 10, 2015 – Leading off the largest product launch in its history, Silicon Valleybased Atlona introduced its latest and most advanced line of HDMI to HDBaseT matrix switchers, its first capable of handling 4K/UHD video @60Hz with HDCP 2.2 copy protection. The company unveiled two models, the AT-UHD-PRO3-88M 8x8 matrix and the 6x6 AT-UHD-PRO3-66M, with additional new features including 48V Power over Ethernet and extended-length HDBaseT cable runs up to 100 meters.
Designed for professional installation in residential and commercial settings, the new switchers are part of a dozen-product debut for Atlona at ISE 2015, Europe’s largest trade expo for commercial and residential AV and electronic systems. At ISE, Atlona is located in Stand 7-P180.
“Our products have the features dealers need to ensure the systems they design and install are ‘futureproofed’ for 4K/UHD streaming and playback formats,” said Michael Khain, Atlona co-founder and vice president of product development and engineering. “Our previous HDMI to HDBaseT matrixes earned a reputation for fast, reliable HD switching. That performance characteristic won’t change, and the new features we’re adding, like the dual-function HDMI outputs and PoE, enhance the products’ capability in ways that provide real value to integrators and their customers.”
Among their integrator-friendly features, the new models provide HDBaseT outputs for both 70m and 100m cable runs, two HDMI outputs which are independently selectable as a mirrored or matrix output, analog audio de-embedding on multiple sources, EDID communications support, a web-based GUI for matrix configuration, and front panel controls.
Both models offer capability for bidirectional remote control via IP, IR, and RS232 protocols using 3rd party control systems, a popular feature among integrators who want their options open when choosing the best control system for their installation. In addition to supporting state-of-the-market standards for video and content protection, the matrixes are equipped with specialized audio features such as de-embedding of high resolution audio streams with support for signals up to 192kHz/24-bit plus independent control for volume, mute, and 5-band EQ for all de-embedded audio content. Connections to analog audio outputs (unbalanced) are made with captive-screw connectors. Anticipating future software upgrades, Atlona has also equipped the new matrixes with dedicated firmware data ports for IP (RJ45) and USB connection.
Both matrixes are offered in a 2U rack-mountable enclosure with a built-in international power supply. Like all Atlona products, they carry a 10-year warranty. The company said they will ship in the second quarter of the year.
