Kortrijk, 3 February 2014 – Barco, a leader in professional meeting room visualization and collaboration systems, proudly announces that the new headquarters of SFR, in Saint-Denis, north of Paris, will feature no fewer than 280 ClickShare systems. France’s second largest telecoms operator ordered 270 ClickShare CSM and 10 ClickShare CSC. ClickShare integrator VIDELIO-IEC has just delivered the first ClickShare CSM units, as part of a larger order that includes a series of Barco solutions (LED rear-projection modules, projectors and LED displays).
SFR has recently inaugurated the first part of its brand-new campus in Saint-Denis, north of Paris. 4,000 employees already moved into their new offices. 8,500 more will be working in the new building once the second phase of the construction works are completed, in 2015. Amongst the many tasks on the checklist of Real Estate Manager & Corporate Supplier Michel Moussa was finding a presentation system for the building’s new meeting rooms: “Simplicity was my key criterion: I wanted a modern solution that would allow anyone - SFR and non-SFR people, Windows and Mac users - to put their content easily on screen”. He discovered ClickShare during a meeting at Barco’s headquarters. The new version of the presentation system was still in a test phase, yet SFR was invited to use it as a pilot. SFR ordered 280 ClickShare units as soon as the CSM system was on the market.
Big and small meeting rooms
Barco’s ClickShare CSM, which was launched on 22 November last, is a more compact version of the original ClickShare SCS, Barco’s meeting room presentation and collaboration system that has received acclaim worldwide for its ease-of-use and revolutionary new approach. Fully compatible with both the ClickShare Button and the free ClickShare apps for iOS and Android, the CSM can display images up to full HD resolution – via its HDMI or VGA output. Only one user can share their content on-screen at a time, yet eight ClickShare Buttons can be connected wirelessly to the base unit. While Barco’s original ClickShare CSC unit, of which SFR bought 10 units, is the ideal solution for larger meeting rooms or boardrooms, the CSM unit brings the power of wireless collaboration to smaller meeting rooms.
Save time, enhance collaboration
French ClickShare AV integrator VIDELIO-IEC has just delivered the first 131 CSM units to SFR. “Building on our expertise as an AV integrator, we were happy to help SFR with this technologically advanced project,” says Thomas Villotte, Project Manager at VIDELIO-IEC. “The CSM is a perfect example of a device that truly changes the user experience and fosters collaboration. It provides real added value in every meeting room.” Moussa adds: “During the trial already, we experienced how ClickShare really helps us save time, as we’re no longer struggling with cables, too low resolution, device incompatibility, etc. Moreover, the ease of sharing information on the central meeting room screen, ensures that everyone is involved in the meetings, which surely enhances decision-making.” On top of these benefits, Moussa appreciates the ClickShare app for SFR employees using smartphones and tablets and was happy to hear that the latest release of CSM integrates full mirroring capabilities for Samsung Galaxy smartphones.
An existing need
“We are really delighted that sales of the ClickShare CSM system is taking off so quickly after its launch. It’s clear proof that the market has been waiting for this simple, yet powerful collaboration and presentation system. By offering both the fully-fledged and more basic versions, we can now provide every company with the comfort of ClickShare,” says Guy Coen, VP Collaboration at Barco.
