Customers and business partners highlight their trust in OpSpace at their INFOPOL booths
Posted on Monday, April 24, 2017

Our customer police zone VLAS (Kortrijk, Belgium) and business partners Engie Fabricom and Knürr Technical Furniture all believe that our OpSpace workspace solution helps operators work more effectively. And they’re eager to highlight that at INFOPOL 2017, the dedicated security trade show taking place this week in Kortrijk. OpSpace is a centerpiece at all three booths.
Close bonds with police forces
Barco has been working together with local police authorities for years in Belgium. Besides equipping police control rooms, we also introduced the concept of temporary monitoring stations to ensure security during events, like we did for the E3 cycling race in 2016 and 2017, and the WWI remembrance ceremonies in 2014. We’re now happy to be strengthening our ties with police zone VLAS in the coming months. As the police authorities are building a new police station, they decided to swap their existing dispatch center for a digital monitoring room, featuring OpSpace.

New way of working
In the 185m² room, operators will be observing camera images from 85 CCTV cameras and 45 ANPR cameras in and around Kortrijk. Our OpSpace workspace solution will play a central role in their new way of working, as will the traffic management solutions of RIS. We will, as such, join forces with police zone VLAS and RIS to showcase the brand-new concept at INFOPOL 2017. More than seeing the set-up at the booth (booth 284), visitors will have the chance to learn about the new way of working at VLAS in a keynote session during the show days, from 25 to 27 April from 12:30h to 13:30h.

One view, total control
By providing control room operators with a single workspace – consisting of a number of displays on their desks – for viewing, monitoring and interacting with data, OpSpace gives them one view and total control. This ensures a more ergonomic and intuitive way of working, contributing to lower stress levels and better decision-making. Besides police zone VLAS, engineering consultant Engie Fabricom and workplace designer Knürr Technical Furniture together with BMA Ergonomics will also be spreading this message at their INFOPOL booths (booth 201 and booth 198).

OpSpace in action
Since its foundation in 1995, INFOPOL has evolved from a regional initiative to a must-attend event for police, surveillance and security services in the Benelux. If you’ve planned a visit to XPO112, don’t miss booths 198, 201 and 284 to see OpSpace at work!
