Title: US Army Seamless LED Video Wall and Digital AV Presentation System

Project Value: $480,897.00

Designed by AVS Installation, LLC

Engineered and Installed by AVS Installation, LLC

Year of Project Completion: 2020

When the US Army, made the decision to update and reconfigure their Main Conference Room and 4K Digital AV Presentation System, Audio Visual Systems & Installation, LLC, was selected as the vendor of choice to design, engineer, and install the new Laser Projector as well as all audio visual equipment and video boards in the new conference areas. The new conference area combines innovation with ease of use to provide the Army with the best possible technological resources with which to address supporting all field deployed armed forces.

AVSI held the latest in communication technology at front of mind when redesigning the conference area. The large Planar LED Video Wall and Barco S3 processor enables a total of nine (9) high resolution individual content / signage screens that ensure anyone involved in a video teleconference or presentation has an optimal view from any point in the room. Likewise, two Vaddio RoboShot 20 UHD 4K wall-mounted cameras allow off-site viewers to have an eagle’s eye perspective on all functions held in the room. Ease of communication was also emphasized with the audio equipment, as well. Eight JBL Control 26 in ceiling speakers and ten Shure MX-395 custom built-in tabletop microphones were mounted into the custom granite tabletop to ensure for crisp sound in both directions. It is of note that AVSI also designed, built and installed all custom furniture per the Army’s requirements for this meeting space’s application.

Even with this wealth of up-to-the-minute technology, users of the US Army’s conference area will have no trouble operating the innovative systems. To ensure that all communication takes place without technological glitches, AVSI supplied an AMX third party remote control system that features a custom programmed MXT-2000XL 20” panoramic touch panel for all command and control functions of the A/V system. The wired remote provides drag and drop, screen previews and preset layouts for Video Sign content. Volume, Videoconferencing and Camera Control is also at the fingertips of anyone who might want to use the system, and regardless of their knowledge of computers, cameras, or audio the ease of use programming design allows for a limited number of button presses to achieve the desired outcome. AVSI worked with the end users of the US Army to design presets for the system to maximize usability, guaranteeing once again that the main conference area may effectively serve as a hub of communication.
