Advance Sound Company recently entered the world of the art elite with a nearly invisible speaker design for the ambitious landmark structure, Vessel at Hudson Yards. Advance Sound Company partnered with One Systems to envision a customized step speaker taking notes from their OPA-82 speaker. The customized speaker, created from the ground up, became the OPA-62 to fit the pre-cast stair treads design, features an IP-54 rating through the connector thanks to One Systems' experience in outdoor rated audio. Neutrik NLT4MP connectors were used to ensure longevity in this outdoor environment.

The system is backed by Biamp's powerful Vocia architecture, featuring VA8600 amplifiers, AM600 Cards, and a VI8 for balanced audio inputs. Featuring 148 speakers and three fully loaded amplifiers, the audio system is clear and intelligible at every platform. Designed to alert visitors of any issues, the staff at Vessel are able to relay important announcements or emergency messages at the press of a button using Biamp's DS-10 from the Vocia platform.

The Vessel is a public structure and landmark that was built as part of the Hudson Yards Redevelopment Project in New York, NY The concept for Vessel was revealed in 2016. Construction started in April 2017. The structure topped out in December 2017 and opened on March 15, 2019.

The elaborate honeycomb-like structure rises 16 stories and consists of 154 flights of stairs 2,500 steps, and 80 landings that visitors would be able to climb. Designed by the British designer Thomas Heatherwick, Vessel is the main feature of the 5-acre Hudson Yards Public Square.
