HDMI UTPro Goes Beyond HD to Deliver Digital Content Up to 100 Meters

LAS VEGAS – June 09, 2010 – AMX®, the leading provider of solutions that simplify the implementation, maintenance, and use of technology to create effective environments, today announced its new HDMI UTPro 8x8 Matrix Switcher will begin shipping in July, 2010. The HDMI UTPro delivers uncompressed, 1920x1200 HD content up to 100 meters, making it the highest-performance digital media switcher available. AMX is exhibiting the HDMI UTPro in booth C4417 at InfoComm 2010, being held June 9 – 11 in Las Vegas.

The HDMI UTPro is a full matrix switcher that delivers eight channels of HDMI, with HDCP authentication, across a network via a single UTP cable. Utilizing Valens' HDBaseT™ Technology, a new standard for digital transmission in the AMX UTPro line, users can transmit HD video, audio, internet, two-way control and power up to 100 meters without the need for repeaters.

"The HDMI UTPro sets a performance benchmark with the industry-best 10 Gigabit-per-second transmission enabling content that is literally beyond HD – resolutions up to 1920x1200 – to speed across the network," said AMX Chief Technology Officer Robert Noble. "AMX realizes the need to provide our dealers with the most advanced technologies in this rapidly changing marketplace and the HDMI UTPro delivers on that commitment."

Ideal for residential, commercial and scholastic installations, the HDMI UTPro is engineered to deliver the highest quality HD digital content to as many as eight displays in an installation. And, as a native-NetLinx® device the HDMI UTPro gives users bi-directional control, both IR and Serial, when paired with a receiver.

"As a visionary company endeavoring to stretch the boundaries of technology, Valens is thrilled to partner with another innovative leader like AMX," said Valens Semiconductor Vice President, Sales and Marketing Micha Risling. "Valens' HDBaseT™ Technology meets all the needs for long-reach connectivity of all multimedia devices with a single 100m/328FT cat5e/6 LAN cable. It offers 5Play – the convergence of uncompressed full HD digital video, audio, 100BaseT Ethernet, power over cable and various control signals."
