A clear view toward diagnosis
The quality and speed of the image-loading on screen is critical to a radiologist’s ability to quickly and accurately diagnose patient images. “Our best-in-class diagnostic imaging technologies provide radiologists with a high-quality, reliable solution to help them detect breast cancer, especially at its earliest stages when lesions are very small,” comments Lynda Domogalla, Vice President Product Marketing for Barco.
Barco will provide 10 mammography workstations, featuring Barco’s dual Nio 5MP display systems and MDRC-2221 displays for the patient worklists.
Intensive breast screening education
The low presentation rate of abnormalities makes it difficult for individuals to know how well they are detecting early signs of cancer. A cloud-based educational self-assessment and training scheme, PERFORMS exposes radiologists to a large number of case sets weighted with abnormal mammograms to expand their diagnostic skills. Among other objectives, PERFORMS aims to train radiologists to stretch their abilities to locate and identify potentially suspicious features, develop/improve confidence levels in decision-making, and provide experience with difficult, rare or unusual cancers. The first product of its kind, it is widely used in the United Kingdom to ensure quality assurance of mammography screenings.
