Datapath appoint former Mitsubishi man Steven Simpson to manage Middle East market

April 14, 2021 - Datapath, world-leading engineers of visual solutions, are pleased to announce Steven Simpson as its new sales and account manager for the Middle East, effective immediately.

Steven brings extensive experience to Datapath's Middle East presence, having lived and worked in the region for over 17 years. With successful spells both in sales and project management, his CV includes successful tenures with industry giants Crestron and, more recently, Mitsubishi.

Steven's territory will see him covering UAE, KSA, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt – managing Datapath's key accounts in the region while expanding its customer base with new opportunities.

Datapath's VP Global Sales, David Griffiths spoke of his satisfaction in bringing Steven to the team: "I have known Steve for several years from his time at Mitsubishi and I'm delighted to have his extensive experience with us here at Datapath. His knowledge of AV markets in the Middle East is second to none and we are thrilled to have him join our global team."

He adds: "Projects in the Middle East continue to receive investment and the market shows steady growth despite the challenges of COVID-19. We are wholly confident we have the right person in place to drive the Datapath brand throughout the region."

Steven is looking forward to bringing his knowledge to the Datapath team, saying: "Datapath have worked closely with Mitsubishi over the past 8 years and, from both a people and product perspective, I know them very well. Throughout this time, I have been impressed with the reliability and support of the Datapath team in general and so I'm very happy to come and work for a company that, as well as making great products, places such importance on customer service."

Sales Manager Andy Lee had built remotely Datapath's presence in the Middle East over the past 6 years to such a point that the next logical step was to bring a local sales manager on-board. Andy will now focus his duties on the core territories of Eastern Europe, Africa, SAARC, CAS & ANZ. The recent restructuring provides Datapath with more resource to better serve its customers and provide more focus on new products such as Aetria and Aligo.
