The ES-491E is designed to read and display SMPTE or EBU Vertical Interval Time Code (EBU is selectable via an internal DIP switch). Hours, Minutes, Seconds and Frames are displayed. Decimal points on the display indicate the Video Field and Drop-Frame mode. Video may be looped-thru the unit to another device. A video termination switch is provided if the loop-thru function is not needed. An internal DIP switch provides selection of the VITC video line, or Automatic Line Identification (First Good). Optional outputs include SMPTE/EBU Longitudinal Time Code (LTC) and RS-232 ASCII outputs. A +/-1 Frame switch is provided with the LTC option to compensate for different types of LTC displays.
