NTI Now Offering a Rugged Vibration Sensor

Aurora, OH: Network Technologies Inc (NTI) today announced the addition of the Rugged Vibration Sensor to its popular line of environmental monitoring sensors that are compatible with the ENVIROMUX-2D/5D/16D Enterprise Environment Monitoring Systems.

The ENVIROMUX-VSSR-10 registers over- or under-vibration in machinery such as large motors, gear boxes, turbines, pumps, blowers, crushers, compressors, blenders, hammermills, and conveyers. Over-vibration may indicate wear on the machine, while under-vibration could suggest that the machine has stopped functioning. It has an adjustable over/under alarm sensitivity of 0.1 to 2.2 in/s (2.5 to 55 mm/s) rms. The sensor can monitor a minimum vibration frequency of 10 Hz and a maximum vibration acceleration of ±1.76 oz (±50 g) peak.

The Rigged Vibration Sensor features a fail-safe isolated NPN output. When connected to the ENVIROMUX-2D/5D/16D, alerts are sent when an over- or under-vibration is detected. The sensor comes in a cast aluminum enclosure with dimensions of 3.94x2.56x1.66 inches (100x65x42 mm), and features a 10ft attached cable for screw terminal connections.  The ENVIROMUX-VSSR includes a 24V, 130mA power supply that is DIN rail mountable. With an operating temperature range of -40 to 185°F (-40 to 85°C) and a NEMA 4X rated enclosure, the sensor is ideal for monitoring vibrations in harsh environments.
