Wake is an alarm and alerting device for people with a hearing loss. Wake lets the user know when the alarm clock rings or when the smoke detector sounds by activating its powerful vibrator. Although Wake plugs into an electrical outlet we do recommend a battery backup in case of power outage or fire. Place Wake on the bedside table right next to the alarm clock, and put the vibrator underneath the pillow. Wake’s built-in microphone will detect the alarm once it sounds and activate the vibrator. The vibration pattern differs depending on what signal it is receiving, making it easy for the user to distinguish the alarm. Wake’s microphone reacts on frequencies above 600Hz and the sensitivity of the microphone can be adjusted so as to avoid false alarms.
