Dual format HD videotape recorder is dual format high definition VTR. It utilizes latest generation of MPEG4 studio profile codec for SR format, but it can also record to well proven HDCAM format. Key features include standard support for 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 RGB SQ recording. HKSR-5003 option is no longer required for 4:4:4 RGB SQ. It records 1080i and 1080PsF signals at frames rates of 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 30 in PsF mode and field rates of 50, 59.94 in Interlace mode. It also supports 720P recording and playback at 50, 59.94 frames/second. HKSR-5001 option 720 4:2:2, 1080 provides multiple format conversions including 4:4:4 and 2:3 pulldown. Legacy playback of HDCAM is standard and digital Betacam (with upconversion) is provided by HKSR-5002 option.
