Tripod riser is used in combination with the Expansion Web to support the camera tripod and raise it 2ft above the crowd. It does not include latches on the horizontal support. They are not necessary when used with the Expansion Web. When purchasing a Spider Pod system, it will include latches for attaching to the standing platform.
