TASCAM Adds SMPTE ST 2110-30 Mode to DANTE Processors
Posted on Monday, February 10, 2020

High quality uncompressed audio protocol ensures compatibility for broadcast applications and more

TASCAM announces a firmware update for the ML-32D and ML-16D Analog-To-Dante Converters, and IF-DA64 I/O card for the DA-6400 64-track digital recorder.

The ML-32D and ML-16D Analog-To-Dante Converters are powerful single rack space processors that move large amount of channels into and out of a Dante audio stream. The ML-32D can process 32 input and 32 output channels for a total of 64. The ML-16D can process 16 input and 16 output channels for a total of 32. The DA-6400 is a 64-channel recorder and playback unit capable of recording and playback 64 audio tracks simultaneously. Using the IF-DA64 64-channel Dante interface card, the DA-6400 now has SMPTE ST 2110-30 compatibility.

The addition of SMPTE ST 2110-30 now allows broadcast facilities to distribute high quality audio which is fully compatible with various other SMPTE video formats, making the ML-32D, ML-16D, and DA-6400/IF-DA64 a powerful solution for moving a high number of audio channels through the Dante stream utilizing the SMPTE ST 2110-30 format.
