These Composite Video Switches are controlled either locally with a 2-position DIP switch, or remotely through a 6-pin mini-DIN style connector. A status output port (6-pin mini-DIN) may be used to slave another switch with remote capability, or to trigger other equipment used for video monitoring purposes. This feature is often useful in audio-follow-video applications. The control input port may be used to control the switch from a remote location. The control input port features optically isolated control bits, which helps in ground loop interference prevention, as well as, allowing reference potential differences between the controller and the video switch. The remote control feature can be configured to operate with a variety of control methods, including contact closure, and TTL type control signals.
