VITEC to showcase FMV range at IDEX with enhanced Middle East presence

PARIS, 26 January 2023 – VITEC will showcase its complete range of Full Motion Video (FMV) technologies at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX), 20 - 24 February 2023, at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. On show at the VITEC stand (01-B03) will be the military-grade MGW Pico+ TOUGH and MGW Diamond TOUGH encoders, and FITIS™, a video content management solution. In a busy year of activity in the Middle East, VITEC established its own office in Dubai to better serve the region, with a dedicated team covering sales, business development, pre-sales and post-sales to serve existing customers and prospects.

"We're excited to be growing our offering in the Middle East, and with our recent investments we're well placed to provide outstanding service to accompany our leading IP streaming solutions for defence," says Nicolas Pons, VP of Business Development Middle East, VITEC. "Our products deliver the necessary build quality required for this demanding market, paired with ultra-low latency to enable live operational streams and video to be quickly incorporated into impactful and insightful visualization. IDEX is an ideal platform for us to build upon our work in the region to meet new and existing partners, and we're committed to long-term growth."

"IDEX is an ideal platform for us to build upon our work in the region to meet new and existing partners, and we're committed to long-term growth." Nicolas Pons, VP of Business Development Middle East, VITEC.

VITEC also held its first Defence & Security event in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, working alongside its partners ST Engineering iDirect and Synoptic Information. The event was attended by a host of government personnel and major system integrators working in the security and defence industry.

As a key player within the Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) arena, VITEC's product line up is designed to stand up to the rigours and mission critical nature of military and government operations. Its MGW Pico+ TOUGH has been designed to provide live tactical video to command centres from drones or unmanned aircraft. The MGW Pico+ TOUGH overcomes any network bandwidth constraints to ensure the best video quality at low bitrate. Its ability change bit rate 'on the fly' is a key feature, in addition to the product's optimized size, weight and power ratio.

Also on show will be VITEC's MGW Diamond TOUGH, a fanless, power-efficient quad channel HEVC and H.264 HD/SD encoder in a rugged enclosure suited to delivering any type of Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaisance (ISR) or Situational Awareness video generated by ground vehicles, airborne platforms and marine vessels in extreme environments. The easy-to-integrate encoder provides exceptional contrast and brightness in any conditions thanks to its HDR support and delivers advanced HEVC compression allowing users to stream HD/SD video (up to 1080p60) with up to 50% bandwidth savings compared to current H.264 standards.

For dissemination and content management of FMV streams and files, VITEC will display FITIS™, an all-in-one solution that can be rapidly deployed in the field or in a secure, hosted site to serve as the central interface for managing live and recorded IPTV content, user access rights, and video distribution workflows. The solution enables decision makers and analysts to view, archive, retrieve, and manipulate ISR footage and tactical military video streams quickly — a benefit that makes it possible to exploit live and recorded video for actionable, real-time intelligence in the observe-orient-decide-act (OODA) loop. FITIS also offers editing and collaboration capabilities for analyzing and sharing video assets with KLV/STANAG metadata.
