These patent-pending wall frame assemblies with recessed panels provide greater protection for connectors while enhancing the appearance of your installation. Two sizes fit 8" x 8" and 12" x 12" standard NEMA type 1 electrical backboxes and there are two standard connector panel recess depths, 1" and 2.5". The flush mount version (WFF series) mounts "in the wall" and its mounting flanges extend one-half inch beyond the edge of the back box on all four sides to provide a visually appealing trim ring effect to the finished wall. The surface mount version (WFS series) mounts "on the wall" and its mounting flanges are the same dimensions as the corresponding backbox. Optional Whirlwind black powder coated backboxes for the surface mount versions (as pictured above) are available for a finished look as opposed to a NEMA type electrical box, see table below.
