Haivision's Katzenoff to Present ?Unifying IP Video and Digital Signage' at 2011 AHECTA Conference

MONTREAL and CHICAGO May 5, 2011 — Haivision, leading provider of the most advanced video networking, digital signage, and IP video distribution solutions, today announced that Scott Katzenoff, the company's vice president, will be presenting “Unifying IP Video and Digital Signage” at the 2011 AHECTA Conference. Scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, the session will examine the converged video delivery model and its benefits within the educational environment.

“IP video streaming and digital signage traditionally have been discrete delivery models, but the ubiquity of robust, reliable networks across campuses is allowing educators to unify the two on a single platform and thereby realize far more effective and extensive media delivery capabilities,” said Katzenoff. “During my AHECTA session, I will describe how this new approach enables educational institutions to embrace a single and comprehensive media delivery model, centralize storage at the head end, and stream content not only to low-cost players at the edge, but also to desktops and mobile devices.”

In his AHECTA presentation, Katzenoff will examine the practical and cost benefits of consolidating IPTV and digital signage and explore how integration of IPTV content into signage windows can enrich messaging and better leverage today's high-resolution, large-screen displays. Attendees will learn how the application of new technologies, such as motion detection and image recognition, can bring further intelligence, flexibility, and value to a converged video delivery model.

Katzenoff is a veteran of the video industry and has a solid track record of enabling channel partners and system integrators with the latest technology solutions. Over the past four years, he has built Haivision's presence in commercial markets across the United States with a focus on expanding the company's partner base in all segments.
