HKBP Menteng Church, one of the most active congregations in Jakarta, set out to create a live streaming setup that was professional, reliable, and easy to operate. With so many moving parts during each service, the church needed a solution that minimized technical complexity while ensuring a high-quality viewing experience for online attendees.
The Challenge
The church’s technical team—mainly volunteers—needed a system that could deliver broadcast-level quality without complicated wiring, capture cards, or steep learning curves.
The Solution
HKBP Menteng adopted Telycam PTZ cameras to build a full-NDI workflow. With NDI, each camera and the PTZ controller connect to the network using just a single Ethernet cable. This one cable delivers video, power, and control, eliminating the need for multiple connections and messy wiring. The result is a clean, streamlined setup that anyone on the team can manage—even volunteers with no prior experience.
To capture every aspect of the service, the church installed three Telycam Drive+ SE PTZ cameras on the left, center, and right walls of the sanctuary. Equipped with 20x optical zoom, these cameras deliver crystal-clear detail—from close-ups of the pastor to wide shots of the entire congregation. The high-quality imagery makes the livestream feel engaging and authentic for those watching from home, while also offering camera angles that traditional setups often miss.
For control, the church relies on the Telycam V-Joy+ joystick controller, which allows operators to manage multiple cameras in real time. Switching angles, setting presets, and recalling positions are seamless, giving the small technical team the ability to produce a polished, multi-camera broadcast.
The Results
With this setup, HKBP Menteng Church has successfully extended its worship services to a broader audience—whether members are watching from home, while traveling, or from abroad. The technology remains in the background, allowing the message, music, and community to take center stage.
Flexibility Beyond NDI
While NDI delivers a simple and efficient workflow, Telycam cameras also support HDMI and 3G-SDI, providing flexible options for teams that continue to rely on traditional video transmission methods.
