Experience Your Space Before It's Built
Every great building begins as an idea, but understanding a space from drawings, renderings, or digital models can be challenging. WalkThru NY is changing that by giving architects, designers, contractors, and owners the opportunity to experience projects at full scale before construction begins.
Using immersive projection technology, clients can walk through life-size floor plans, evaluate layouts, understand circulation, and make informed design decisions long before the first wall is built. By combining floor plans with architectural elevations, landscape designs, and supporting project documentation, WalkThru NY creates a collaborative environment where project teams can visualize, refine, and validate designs with confidence.
To bring this experience to life, WalkThru NY partnered with audio visual integrator Audio Video Corporation head quartered in Albany , NY to design and install a high-performance immersive visualization environment that delivers the accuracy, reliability, and ease of use their clients depend on.

Immersive Visualization Environment
The Challenge
Bringing Designs to Life
WalkThru NY needed more than a large projection system—they needed an immersive environment that would allow clients to experience designs as if they were already built. Every projected wall, doorway, workstation, pathway, and landscape element had to appear at true scale, giving architects, engineers, contractors, and owners the confidence to make informed decisions before construction began.
Creating this experience required multiple projectors to perform as one seamless display while maintaining precise image alignment, consistent brightness, and accurate color reproduction. The system also needed to present supporting design information alongside the immersive floor plan, allowing teams to review every aspect of a project in one collaborative environment. At the same time, it had to remain intuitive for daily operation, allowing WalkThru NY staff to focus on guiding clients through the design process rather than managing technology.
The Design
An Environment Built for Immersive Collaboration
Audio Video Corporation’s engineering and sales teams designed and installed a fully integrated immersive visualization environment centered around six Epson L695SU laser projectors, creating a seamless 44' × 48' life-size projection surface. The system allows architects, designers, contractors, and owners to physically walk through floor plans at true scale, providing a deeper understanding of space, circulation, and workflow before construction begins.
Complementing the immersive floor is a 7,000-lumen Epson EB-PU1006W laser projector paired with an ELPLM08 mid-throw lens, creating a side-wall image measuring more than 21 feet high by 33 feet wide. This large-format display presents architectural elevations, landscape designs, reflected ceiling plans, renderings, and other supporting project documentation. Together, the floor and side-wall displays allow project teams to evaluate both the horizontal layout and vertical design elements simultaneously, creating a more complete understanding of the finished space.
Behind the scenes, Epson's ELPEC01 automated camera calibration maintains precise image alignment, edge blending, and color consistency across all six floor projectors. Datapath Fx4/H display controllers manage and distribute content across the visualization environment, ensuring synchronized playback and seamless image presentation. A Crestron touchscreen control system provides intuitive, one-touch operation for launching presentations and managing the system. The result is a reliable, easy-to-use visualization platform that empowers WalkThru NY to deliver engaging design reviews and help clients make confident decisions before construction ever begins.

The Results
A Better Way to Experience Design
With Audio Video Corporation's immersive visualization environment, WalkThru NY has redefined how clients engage with architectural and construction projects. Instead of relying solely on drawings or renderings, architects, designers, contractors, and owners can walk through projects at full scale while simultaneously reviewing elevations, landscape designs, and supporting documentation on a large-format side-wall display.
The result is a more collaborative design process, clearer communication among stakeholders, and greater confidence in every decision before construction begins. By enabling clients to experience spaces as they will exist in the real world, WalkThru NY helps identify design opportunities earlier, streamline project reviews, and support better-informed decisions throughout the planning process.
Powered by advanced Epson laser projection, automated calibration, Datapath processing, and intuitive Crestron control, the immersive visualization environment is more than an AV system, it's a collaborative design tool that helps clients experience their spaces before they're built.
