Biamp Systems Acknowledged As a Finalist in the 2011 AV Technology Awards
Posted on Wednesday, August 31, 2011

BEAVERTON, Oregon — Biamp Systems, a leading provider of innovative, networked media systems that power the world's most sophisticated audio/video systems, has been named a finalist in the 2011 AV Technology Awards for Most Innovative AV Installation in Healthcare for its work with Integrated Systems Group (ISG) to install Biamp Systems' Vocia critical paging system, in the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR. Biamp Systems was also named a finalist in the Best New Product or System for Emergency Preparedness category.

The 2011 AV Technology Awards is an industry award program that recognizes outstanding AV end-users, tech managers, facility directors, and the product manufacturers that provide reliable, easy-to-operate, and forward-thinking products. The Application category showcases completed, real-world design/installation of integrated AV systems, including hardware, software, connectivity, etc. The Project category recognizes new hardware or software products that are easy to operate, provide return on investment, and equip a facility for technological evolution.

ISG chose Vocia for the design and installation of a networked, critical paging and voice evacuation system for the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. The medical center required a fully unified system that quickly and easily sends pages to any zone in the hospital facility, allows for increased page managements and provides ease-of-use and management for maintenance personnel. Vocia has improved the quality, reliability and consistency of all the pages at the medical center. The results are increased staff confidence, plus with Vocia's system scalability they now have the ability to proactively plan for campus growth.

"We work hard every day to deliver the most thoughtful, and highest quality products and services to our customers" said Steve Metzger, president of Biamp Systems. "We're honored the Providence St. Vincent installation was recognized by the AV Technology Awards and Biamp was named a finalist. This project is a great example of how a fully integrated paging system can provide enormous benefit for the customer. We're very pleased that we can share in this recognition with Providence St. Vincent and ISG."
