DSNW (Design Sound NW) partnered with Day CPM and SAIF - Oregon's not-for-profit workers' compensation insurance company - to create simplistic effective Audio Visual rooms to facilitate employee workflows.

SAIF engaged DSNW in partnership with Day CPM to create simple, easy to use technology leveraged conference rooms.  SAIF upgraded existing buildings with a new boardroom and conference rooms.

DSNW was introduced to the project and inserted into the AV Design Build Integrator of record.  Building off initial designs with AMX Control and Wireless Presentation, DSNW added LG Displays, Samsung Displays, Liberty Matrix Switchers, Gefen PIP processors, Biamp DSP Processors, Labgruppen Amplifiers, Soundtube Speakers, Shure Microphones, ClearOne ceiling microphone arrays, table connectivity and small racks located in room cabinetry.  DSNW integrated Cisco Roomkit, Roomkit Plus and SX-80 systems provided by SAIF.

AMX Scheduling panels were added and integrated to MS Office 365, configured by SAIF IT professionals for a seamless room scheduling system.  The rooms can be reserved through outlook or at the physical room location eliminating room overbooking collisions.

The majority of the rooms boast 65”, 79” or 85” displays for presentations, video conference calls, and or fully integrated Webex (SAIF driven) experiences from in room dedicated PC’s.  All room setups, calling routines and controls are handled by in room table top touch panels (7” AMX) with custom driven graphics and layouts established by SAIF. In some rooms no display panel was present and the rooms were configured as Audio Conference only systems with VoIP interfaces (to Cisco Call Manager system) via the Biamp Tesira product with AMX touch panel controls.

For larger rooms DSNW deployed the Shure MXA-910 ceiling grid microphone (8 lobes) to reduce the visual impact and increase the physical coverage for a “set it and forget it” style of always working room with Audio and Video calling capabilities.  SAIF provided small form factor room PC’s to serve up presentations and webex calls with PIP layouts and the ability to send all room sources to the content input on the Cisco codecs.

The boardroom was installed with a projector lift that hides when not in use.  Screen paint was utilized by the GC to minimize extra construction of installing a screen.  This room used a Shure Ceiling Mic array, a 10” tabletop touch panel, full matrix switching, PIP processing, in room PC and a full coverage speaker system for near and farside audio along with any program audio from room input sources.

DSNW provided and installed 11 LG digital signage monitors utilizing the built in SuperSign products from LG.  10 of the monitors were deployed in portrait mode with a super slim Crimson flat wall mount minimizing the standoff from the wall and meeting aesthetics.  1 of the monitors was a large LG 86” monitor in landscape orientation in an employee open seating cafeteria also utilizing the built in SuperSign products from LG.

DSNW partnered with Electronic Directory Corporation to install digital wayfinding map kiosks outside of each elevator for the six floors.  The maps were developed

DSNW and SAIF jointly built proof of concept rooms to ensure a smooth successful rollout and proactive use models so that touch panel layouts, room documentation and help desk functions could be minimized.  All of the rooms reside on the SAIF network for quick troubleshooting and controls when necessary, ultimately the proof to install process has proactively socialized the room with employees making it a win-win for all involved.  SAIF has been able to leverage all their technology for meetings, collaboration and offsite communications to field offices increasing efficiencies.
